The piece is Dr. Thrower's happy tune, recalling his memorable week as a music lecturer at an international music festival near Rio. Written for a jazz trumpet section on five flugelhorns, this ABA form is challenging and fun for all five players. Great for concerts of any kind. The usage of all flugels in a purely jazz setting also provides a unique spin for a trumpet ensemble competition. The lead part soars up to high E at the climax, and all parts require a bit of stamina. If necessary, a sixth player may be used to spell the lead part and others as needed, or even double the low part for a better balance.
