Behold the Man (Double Brass Quintet), Dr. Daniel Thrower

This piece was composed in 2001 during Dr. Thrower's undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University (BYU), and was performed multiple times by the BYU Brass Choir in 2001-02 under the direction of Dr. Dan Bachelder. "Behold the Man" represents an important phase in Thrower's compositional development wherein motifs and harmonies took precendence over large-picture thematic development and form. It is of value to offer this work as a publication for brass ensembles to perform, as it is quite effective "movie music" for the listener's imagination to paint a passionate picture of the dramatic biblical scene.
