It tells the true story of a librarian who is surprised to encounter an actual bat perched on the music folders in the historic building that houses the library. The exterminator is called in, but rather than destroy the new mascot, he arranges to take "Barb" to a bat refuge to live out a long life. The music is somewhat challenging for the musicians, but incredibly fun. Children simply love the story! Alternate parts for trumpets in C are included.
