Vining - Long Tone Duets for Trumpet

Long Tone Duets is a book of 23 duets designed to challenge players to play perfectly in tune with each other and match tone quality and articulations. Since these duets are not technically challenging, players can focus almost exclusively on intonation and blending of tone quality. There are duets in every major key plus additional patterns, including fourths, chromatic scale, pitch bends, chant and same pitch over a changing harmony, to name a few. Teachers can use this book to discuss intonation tendencies, tuning thirds and fifths and blending tone quality.
