It begins serenely (albeit with complex counterpoint throughout the brass parts), and the percussion is needed to enhance the melodic line. The rest of the piece is full of fun, excitement, complexity, patriotism, and a variety of emotional play as the thematic content is presentet and transformed in various ways This is the first composition of Dr. Thrower's works that depict American trails, all of which merit performances by all serious brass quintets!
