Composed by Dr. Daniel Thrower. Duration: 13:30. Three movements, with movement titles: I. Geology, II. The Wu Li Dance, and III. Cosmology. This substantial work is an important addition to the realm of brass quintet repertoire, composed during the same time as Dr. Thrower's "Concerto for Trumpet." The portrayed pastimes were shared with the composer's wife and five young children - especially the outer movements. The middle movement was inspired by Dr. Thrower's nerdy interest in quantum physics, titled after a masterfully written book on the subject, "The Dancing Wu Li Masters," by Gary Zukav. This movement calls for flugelhorns and if possible, euphonium instead of trombone.
