Schilke C Trumpets

The C Series Schilke C trumpets are exceptionally well in-tune and have a light, brilliant sound, especially well-suited to chamber music playing, small orchestras, and solo work. They are step-bore designs, the bore gradually widening through the leadpipe, tuning slide, and valves, creating instruments with much less resistance than those of other brands with similar bore sizes.

Built to the highest standards of craftsmanship and tradition associated with the Schilke company, the new HD series of instruments represent a new professional option in the Schilke line. Schilke recently presented the new HD instruments to the trumpet community at the '09 International Trumpet Guild convention at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They were very well-received! The comments were overwhelming positive. "HD" stands for "heavy design"; based on the S series models, these instruments were created for the orchestral musician. The HD C trumpet incorporates a heavier receiver and leadpipe, thicker tubing, a heavy-gauge one-piece "seamed" yellow brass bell. The additional mass offers a very thick, powerful sound that is focused, with wonderful projection. Large bore.
